Stay in Eivissa near Playa d'en Bossa
When you arrive in Ibiza, usually by plane, you'll arrive directly near the capital, Eivissa. A white UNESCO World Heritage town with a bohemian atmosphere and historic sites, you'll find a maze of narrow streets and typical houses, punctuated by local restaurants and craft stores that will enchant your visit. You'll love crossing the Passeig de Vara Rey to come across the gateway known as Portal de ses Taules. You'll then arrive at Dalt Vila, which is the fortified part of the town and leads you via theAlmudaina to Ibiza Castle.
The old town is the part of the capital that contains other historical architectural treasures, such as the Gothic Cathedral of the Virgin of the Snows. You'll be won over if you're looking for cultural visits in this part, which also features other places like the Puig des Molins necropolis museum. Staying in Cala LLonga and Santa Eularia: for families
East Ibiza is home to a number of small, pleasant towns. This is clearly a far cry from the festive, mass tourism of the area, and is more suited to family vacations. Two seaside resorts stand out: Cala Llonga and Santa Eularia des Riu. These two small seaside villages are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the landscape. The region, known for its almond trees, boasts a rich architectural and monumental heritage.
The first Cala Llonga is very small and boasts a beach of the same name. It is bordered by a number of relatively recent hotels, which have changed the landscape of this cove. But the advantage is that the beach is right next to it, so you can enjoy it without having to travel far or make a major effort to swim in Ibiza's turquoise waters. Further back, you'll come across the Capella d'Assumpció open church, made up of white boulders that allow you to stroll through the forest with the assurance of resting in the shade. A little further along the coast to the north-east, you'll come across a hike that leads to Cala Blanca, a rocky cove that's difficult to access but well worth the effort!
The second, Santa Eulària des Riu, is larger. Here, you can visit a Roman necropolis, a 16th-century fortified white church, Església Santa Eulàlia del Riu, in Puig de Missa, and the Pitiusas ethnological museum to learn all about the ancient past of this island land. The beaches in this part of the island are of a different interest: less steep, such as those in the town of Playa Santa Eulalia and Niu Blau, are well worth an afternoon far niente. Pretty little paillotes await you on the fine sand, where you can eat fresh local produce.
Because of Santa Eularia's greater presence of typical historic buildings and cultural sites, you'll find a greater number of accommodations to choose from, whether you prefer to be inland or by the sea. Upmarket hotels abound as far north as Es Canar in the northeast, and different price ranges are available to suit your budget. Here's our selection of the best hotels in these two eastern towns.

To the north, it's a wild spirit you'll discover with steep, rocky beaches bordered by craggy cliffs. The waters are crystal-clear and thebohemian spirit can be felt in the infrastructure of this part of Ibiza. Portinatx Beach, Cala Portinatx and Cala d'En Serra to the east are just a few of the must-see beaches to visit if you decide to stay in Portinatx. It's worth noting that the beaches of this small seaside resort are small and quickly snapped up, which doesn't make it easy if you want to settle down and enjoy the sun in peace and quiet. Fortunately, however, with various coves all along the north coast, you can easily find a much quieter and wilder spot if you're looking for a wilder experience.
This is in contrast to the southern part, famous for its wild, never-ending nightlife, which honors Ibiza's name as the white island, where you can cut yourself off from the hustle and bustle. Many visitors are now looking for a sense of calm and authenticity. In recent years, the simplicity of accommodation while offering a high-end experience has come to the fore, and northern Ibiza has become a destination for spiritual retreats and relaxing vacations aligned with its nature.
