As for transport, Cagliari-Elmas airport is eleven kilometers from the center. You can either rent a car there or take a shuttle bus to your accommodation. Once there, public buses run frequently from one area to another.

Accommodation on the island of Maddalena, a corner of paradise
La Maddalena is an island in northern Sardinia. It is the main island of thearchipelago of the same name. It's a true paradise for nature lovers and those looking for a relaxing break. Fine sandy beaches, turquoise waters, towering cliffs and spectacular views over the Mediterranean Sea are just some of what the island has to offer.
Staying on Isola Maddalena means staying close to several small paradise islands that are easily accessible by boat from the port. This is a protected archipelago, so you'll have the chance to spot marine species that we don't always get to see: dolphins and sea turtles. La Maddalena hides a wealth of natural gems.
To reach La Maddalena, first land at Olbia airport. Then take a cab or bus to the port of Palau, some 45 kilometers away. Once in Palau, take the ferry to La Maddalena. Once there, you can travel by car if you have a car, or by bus. Make sure you book your journey in advance, as ferry timetables are few and can change rapidly.
You'll also find a few bars and restaurants. As far as accommodation is concerned, most are at affordable prices. Travelers often stay for two or three days maximum: time to enjoy the beaches and discover the island's hidden corners.
